In geotechnical engineering practice, unsupported vertical trenches are typically excavated in unsaturated soils. this case, the variation of shear strength and hydraulic conductivity with respect to soil suction is key information analyze stability an trench. Most models use soil-water characteristic curve (SWCC) as a main tool. Various available determine SWCC, strength, for Scholars or practitioners one existing numerical analyses estimate trench considering rainfall events. However, limited studies have been undertaken investigate effect SWCC functions on present study, carried out by using different SWCCs their influence estimated safe height stand-up time trenches. The same model was used entire analyses.
